# MacQueen vs Guidist

The clearest difference is ads: MacQueen at none against Guidist's shown. MacQueen also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (651 vs 63). Guidist's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MacQueen holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MacQueen has 651 ratings behind it against 63, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of MacQueen's written reviews are positive against 50% of Guidist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MacQueen ships an update every 2 weeks, Guidist every 8 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
