# HaloVPN vs VPN Proxy

The clearest difference is rating: HaloVPN at 4.7 against VPN Proxy's 4.1. HaloVPN also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months). VPN Proxy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HaloVPN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and VPN Proxy sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HaloVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HaloVPN has 16K ratings behind it against 691, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of HaloVPN's written reviews are positive against 61% of VPN Proxy's.

HaloVPN ships an update every 4 days, VPN Proxy every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
