# HaloVPN vs VP.NET VPN

The clearest difference is monetization model: HaloVPN at free with in-app purchases against VP.NET VPN's subscription. HaloVPN also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (16K vs 145). VP.NET VPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HaloVPN sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and VP.NET VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HaloVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HaloVPN has 16K ratings behind it against 145, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of HaloVPN's written reviews are positive against 62% of VP.NET VPN's.

HaloVPN ships an update every 4 days, VP.NET VPN every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
