# Big Clock vs Nightstand Desk Clock & Widget

The clearest difference is rating: Big Clock at 4.0 against Nightstand Desk Clock & Widget's 3.5. Big Clock also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (717 vs 4). Nightstand Desk Clock & Widget's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 68%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Big Clock sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Nightstand Desk Clock & Widget sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Big Clock holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Big Clock has 717 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Big Clock's written reviews are positive against 100% of Nightstand Desk Clock & Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Big Clock ships an update every 4 weeks, Nightstand Desk Clock & Widget every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
