# Splitscene vs Screen Recorder

The clearest difference is ads: Splitscene at none against Screen Recorder's shown. Splitscene also leads on iOS requirement (13.2 vs 15). Screen Recorder's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Splitscene sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Screen Recorder sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Splitscene ships an update every 2 months, Screen Recorder every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
