# JoyLit vs LiterallyForBooks

The clearest difference is rating: LiterallyForBooks at 5.0 against JoyLit's 4.3. LiterallyForBooks also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 14) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). JoyLit's advantage is ratings volume (5K vs 2) and chart position (#14 vs unranked). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JoyLit sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. LiterallyForBooks asks for nothing beyond the download.

LiterallyForBooks holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JoyLit has 5K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

JoyLit ships an update every 9 days, LiterallyForBooks every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
