# 進研ゼミアプリ vs Focus & Fish

The clearest difference is rating: Focus & Fish at 5.0 against 進研ゼミアプリ's 4.5. Focus & Fish also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (10 vs 2). 進研ゼミアプリ's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus & Fish sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. 進研ゼミアプリ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Focus & Fish holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus & Fish has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of 進研ゼミアプリ's written reviews are positive against 62% of Focus & Fish's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
