# The Big Button! vs Grip Time

The clearest difference is monetization model: Grip Time at free against The Big Button!'s free with in-app purchases. Grip Time also leads on ratings volume (18 vs 2). The Big Button!'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Big Button! sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Grip Time sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Big Button! holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grip Time has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

The Big Button! ships an update every 5 days, Grip Time every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
