# Notepad Markdown vs iMarkdown

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Notepad Markdown at 102 against iMarkdown's 1. iMarkdown's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad Markdown sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and iMarkdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iMarkdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad Markdown has 102 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of Notepad Markdown's written reviews are positive against 90% of iMarkdown's.

Notepad Markdown ships an update fortnightly, iMarkdown every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
