# Notepad Markdown vs Space Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Notepad Markdown at 4.6 against Space Notes's 3.7. Notepad Markdown also leads on ratings volume (86 vs 3). Space Notes's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad Markdown sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Space Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notepad Markdown holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad Markdown has 86 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Notepad Markdown ships an update fortnightly, Space Notes every 9 days. Both last shipped on September 19, 2026.
