# Guideys vs Wind Companion

The clearest difference is ads: Guideys at none against Wind Companion's shown. Guideys also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). Wind Companion's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Guideys sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Wind Companion sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wind Companion holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 71 and 33 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Guideys's written reviews are positive against 80% of Wind Companion's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Guideys ships an update every 10 days, Wind Companion monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
