# Loar vs Acts

The clearest difference is update cadence: Acts at every 4 days against Loar's monthly. Acts also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Loar's advantage is ratings volume (17 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Loar against 5.0 for Acts. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Loar has 17 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Loar ships an update monthly, Acts every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
