# Classmate vs Bites

The clearest difference is rating: Bites at 4.6 against Classmate's 3.4. Bites also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Classmate's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 43%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Classmate sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Bites sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bites holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bites has 2.1K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Classmate's written reviews are positive against 43% of Bites's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Classmate ships an update every 2 months, Bites fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
