# Coupled vs HMU

Coupled and HMU both sit at 4.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of Coupled's written reviews are positive against 27% of HMU's. Coupled also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). HMU's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (3.1K vs 40). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coupled sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and HMU sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for Coupled against 4.1 for HMU. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HMU has 3.1K ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 56% of Coupled's written reviews are positive against 27% of HMU's.

Coupled ships an update every 2 months, HMU fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
