# Tessie vs BitLocal

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BitLocal at none against Tessie's 17. BitLocal also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Tessie's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (9.7K vs 6). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tessie sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. BitLocal asks for nothing beyond the download.

BitLocal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tessie has 9.7K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tessie ships an update weekly, BitLocal every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
