# Viya vs Collar

The clearest difference is ads: Viya at none against Collar's shown. Viya also leads on ratings volume (348 vs 6) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). Collar's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 30%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Viya holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Viya has 348 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Viya's written reviews are positive against 50% of Collar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Viya ships an update every 6 weeks, Collar fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
