# Viya vs Makyee

Viya and Makyee both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Makyee's written reviews are positive against 30% of Viya's. Makyee also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Viya's advantage is ratings volume (354 vs 6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Viya against 4.5 for Makyee. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Viya has 354 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 30% of Viya's written reviews are positive against 100% of Makyee's.

Viya ships an update every 6 weeks, Makyee fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
