# Twist vs Hangjam

The clearest difference is rating: Hangjam at 4.4 against Twist's 2.7. Hangjam also leads on review sentiment (40% vs 0%) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Twist's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Twist sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Hangjam sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hangjam holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hangjam has 883 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 0% of Twist's written reviews are positive against 40% of Hangjam's.

Twist ships an update every 5 days, Hangjam every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
