# Tornado.io 2 vs Idle Tornado Simulator

The clearest difference is rating: Idle Tornado Simulator at 4.7 against Tornado.io 2's 4.2. Idle Tornado Simulator also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 98). Tornado.io 2's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 46%) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tornado.io 2 sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Idle Tornado Simulator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Idle Tornado Simulator holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Idle Tornado Simulator has 1.8K ratings behind it against 98, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Tornado.io 2's written reviews are positive against 46% of Idle Tornado Simulator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tornado.io 2 ships an update fortnightly, Idle Tornado Simulator every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
