# Jebena vs EthioGuide

The clearest difference is rating: Jebena at 4.3 against EthioGuide's 3.5. Jebena also leads on review sentiment (37% vs 0%) and ratings volume (1.7K vs 2). EthioGuide's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jebena sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and EthioGuide sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Jebena holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Jebena has 1.7K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 37% of Jebena's written reviews are positive against 0% of EthioGuide's.

Jebena ships an update monthly, EthioGuide every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
