# Smart Tasks vs Digital Planner for iPad

The clearest difference is monetization model: Smart Tasks at freemium against Digital Planner for iPad's subscription. Smart Tasks also leads on review sentiment (79% vs 44%) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). Digital Planner for iPad's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Tasks sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Digital Planner for iPad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart Tasks holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4.5K and 2.1K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of Smart Tasks's written reviews are positive against 44% of Digital Planner for iPad's.

Smart Tasks ships an update fortnightly, Digital Planner for iPad every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
