# Primitive Skate vs CMG Pro

The clearest difference is ads: CMG Pro at none against Primitive Skate's shown. CMG Pro also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). Primitive Skate's advantage is ratings volume (1.1K vs 6). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Primitive Skate against 5.0 for CMG Pro. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Primitive Skate has 1.1K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Primitive Skate ships an update monthly, CMG Pro every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
