# iSTB Lite vs Xtream IPTV Smart Player

The clearest difference is rating: iSTB Lite at 2.6 against Xtream IPTV Smart Player's 2.0. iSTB Lite also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Xtream IPTV Smart Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. iSTB Lite asks for nothing beyond the download.

iSTB Lite holds the better App Store score, 2.6 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iSTB Lite has 73 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of iSTB Lite's written reviews are positive against 33% of Xtream IPTV Smart Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iSTB Lite ships an update every 8 days, Xtream IPTV Smart Player every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
