# SlideStream vs Slideshow Maker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SlideStream at 100% against Slideshow Maker's 35%. Slideshow Maker's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Slideshow Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Slideshow Maker has 1.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of SlideStream's written reviews are positive against 35% of Slideshow Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SlideStream ships an update every 3 months, Slideshow Maker every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
