# PeekSmith (BS Magic) vs Echolocation

The clearest difference is rating: Echolocation at 4.5 against PeekSmith (BS Magic)'s 3.7. Echolocation also leads on ratings volume (19 vs 3). PeekSmith (BS Magic)'s advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 88%) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Echolocation holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Echolocation has 19 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of PeekSmith (BS Magic)'s written reviews are positive against 88% of Echolocation's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
