# ECitizen vs PDF Scanner App

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Scanner App at 4.5 against ECitizen's 3.0. PDF Scanner App also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (63 vs 2). ECitizen's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 13) and review sentiment (33% vs 17%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Scanner App sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. ECitizen asks for nothing beyond the download.

PDF Scanner App holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Scanner App has 63 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of ECitizen's written reviews are positive against 17% of PDF Scanner App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ECitizen ships an update every 6 weeks, PDF Scanner App every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
