# RainPoint vs ECCOTEMP

The clearest difference is update cadence: RainPoint at every 3 months against ECCOTEMP's every 19 months. RainPoint also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 18). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for RainPoint against 4.6 for ECCOTEMP. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RainPoint has 1.1K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two.

RainPoint ships an update every 3 months, ECCOTEMP every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
