# RainPoint vs Lockstar Smart

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Lockstar Smart at 78% against RainPoint's 29%. RainPoint's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.9) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 19 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RainPoint holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RainPoint has 1.1K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of RainPoint's written reviews are positive against 78% of Lockstar Smart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RainPoint ships an update every 3 months, Lockstar Smart every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
