# 2U vs 随记

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: 2U at none against 随记's 4. 随记's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 34 months) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 随记 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. 2U asks for nothing beyond the download.

2U ships an update every 34 months, 随记 every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
