# Bones Coffee vs Midnight Hour

The clearest difference is ads: Midnight Hour at none against Bones Coffee's shown. Midnight Hour also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Bones Coffee's advantage is ratings volume (3K vs 204). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Bones Coffee against 4.8 for Midnight Hour. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bones Coffee has 3K ratings behind it against 204, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of Bones Coffee's written reviews are positive against 86% of Midnight Hour's.

Bones Coffee ships an update monthly, Midnight Hour every 10 days. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
