# Videoblast 2 vs AR Text

The clearest difference is monetization model: AR Text at freemium against Videoblast 2's subscription. AR Text also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (75% vs 57%). Videoblast 2's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (762 vs 33). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Videoblast 2 sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and AR Text sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $34.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Videoblast 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Videoblast 2 has 762 ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Videoblast 2's written reviews are positive against 75% of AR Text's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Videoblast 2 ships an update every 4 weeks, AR Text every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
