# splitty vs Checkmate

The clearest difference is update cadence: Checkmate at every 4 days against splitty's fortnightly. Checkmate also leads on iOS requirement (14.0.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. splitty sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Checkmate sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

splitty ships an update fortnightly, Checkmate every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
