# splitty vs Chai Split

The clearest difference is rating: Chai Split at 5.0 against splitty's 4.7. Chai Split also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 80%) and iOS requirement (18.6 vs 26.0). splitty's advantage is ratings volume (76 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. splitty sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Chai Split sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chai Split holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: splitty has 76 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of splitty's written reviews are positive against 100% of Chai Split's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
