# Pre vs Gyraline

The clearest difference is rating: Pre at 5.0 against Gyraline's 3.8. Pre also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 9) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Gyraline's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (99 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gyraline sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Pre asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pre holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gyraline has 99 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pre ships an update every 7 months, Gyraline fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
