# Bitdefender VPN vs Hometric

Bitdefender VPN and Hometric both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Hometric's written reviews are positive against 49% of Bitdefender VPN's. Bitdefender VPN's advantage is ratings volume (14K vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bitdefender VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Hometric sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hometric holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bitdefender VPN has 14K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 49% of Bitdefender VPN's written reviews are positive against 100% of Hometric's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
