# Alta Video vs Immix

The clearest difference is rating: Alta Video at 3.3 against Immix's 2.3. Alta Video also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). Immix's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 31%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Alta Video holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 23 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Alta Video's written reviews are positive against 50% of Immix's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Alta Video ships an update every 2 months, Immix every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
