# EMS vs Halo OS

The clearest difference is update cadence: EMS at every 10 months against Halo OS's every 26 months. EMS also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.2). Halo OS's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EMS ships an update every 10 months, Halo OS every 26 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
