# Day Counter vs Sober

The clearest difference is update cadence: Sober at weekly against Day Counter's every 6 weeks. Day Counter's advantage is ratings volume (447 vs 12). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Day Counter sells 13 one-off in-app purchases and Sober sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Day Counter against 4.8 for Sober. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Day Counter has 447 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two.
