# Day Counter vs Purr

The clearest difference is update cadence: Purr at every 5 days against Day Counter's every 6 weeks. Purr also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Day Counter's advantage is ratings volume (447 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Day Counter sells 13 one-off in-app purchases and Purr sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Purr holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Day Counter has 447 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Day Counter ships an update every 6 weeks, Purr every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
