# Car Trip vs QR Code

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: QR Code at none against Car Trip's 1. Car Trip's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.5). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Car Trip sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. QR Code asks for nothing beyond the download.

Car Trip ships an update every 9 days, QR Code every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
