# Hooked TV vs MediaAppUSA

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Hooked TV at 12K against MediaAppUSA's 9. Hooked TV also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6). MediaAppUSA's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hooked TV sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and MediaAppUSA sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hooked TV holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hooked TV has 12K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hooked TV ships an update every 3 weeks, MediaAppUSA every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
