# Hooked TV vs Ephemerality

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Ephemerality at none against Hooked TV's 11. Ephemerality also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). Hooked TV's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (12K vs 1). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hooked TV sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Ephemerality asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ephemerality holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hooked TV has 12K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hooked TV ships an update every 3 weeks, Ephemerality every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
