# Plexamp vs Submerge

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Submerge at none against Plexamp's 3. Submerge also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Plexamp's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (10K vs 3). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plexamp sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Submerge asks for nothing beyond the download.

Submerge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plexamp has 10K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Plexamp ships an update every 2 weeks, Submerge every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
