Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: VIPER X at 5.0 against VanyaVPN's 4.3. VIPER X also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 34%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.5). VanyaVPN's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (3.9K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
VIPER X holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VanyaVPN has 3.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of VIPER X's written reviews are positive against 34% of VanyaVPN's.
VIPER X ships an update every 13 months, VanyaVPN every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
