# ScentArea vs AF Aroma

The clearest difference is rating: AF Aroma at 2.1 against ScentArea's 1.3. ScentArea's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 9 months) and ratings volume (164 vs 7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AF Aroma holds the better App Store score, 2.1 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScentArea has 164 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of ScentArea's written reviews are positive against 0% of AF Aroma's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ScentArea ships an update every 2 weeks, AF Aroma every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
