# Qixel vs LEGO® Play

The clearest difference is rating: LEGO® Play at 4.5 against Qixel's 3.6. LEGO® Play also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Qixel's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 43%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.4). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Qixel sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. LEGO® Play asks for nothing beyond the download.

LEGO® Play holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LEGO® Play has 13K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Qixel's written reviews are positive against 43% of LEGO® Play's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Qixel ships an update every 7 months, LEGO® Play weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
