# Route vs Package Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: Package Tracker at 4.4 against Route's 3.7. Package Tracker also leads on ratings volume (532 vs 3) and chart position (#190 vs unranked). Route's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (80% vs 48%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Route sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per 7 days and Package Tracker sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Package Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Package Tracker has 532 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Route's written reviews are positive against 48% of Package Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Route ships an update every 9 days, Package Tracker every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
