# Text Scanner vs PDF Translator

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Text Scanner at 67% against PDF Translator's 17%. Text Scanner also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.2). PDF Translator's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (478 vs 2). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Scanner sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and PDF Translator sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Scanner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Translator has 478 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Text Scanner's written reviews are positive against 17% of PDF Translator's.

Text Scanner ships an update every 4 months, PDF Translator monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
