# elspet vs Petcove

The clearest difference is ads: elspet at none against Petcove's shown. elspet also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.4) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Petcove's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 39%) and update cadence (every 7 months vs every 16 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

elspet holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.1K and 500 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of elspet's written reviews are positive against 63% of Petcove's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

elspet ships an update every 16 months, Petcove every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
