# Hi vs Screambox

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hi at 80% against Screambox's 17%. Hi also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.8) and ads (none vs shown). Screambox's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hi sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and Screambox sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hi holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 329 and 602 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of Hi's written reviews are positive against 17% of Screambox's.

Hi ships an update every 3 months, Screambox every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
